Josh Groves, Director of Sepheo: The team of Mosyle genuinely care about a great product experience and they care about education. And for me, that’s all I want. I’ve learned that we don't have to do this alone. There are people out there with the skills and the expertise that is making a benefit all the way over here in Lesotho.
Sepheo is a not-for-profit based in Lesotho which is in South Africa. We started in 2012 getting children off the streets and back into families. We started realizing very early on that these children were having such a difficult time reintegrating into mainstream primary school. So, we started our own school tailored exactly to the types of needs that they had. Most of these children are many, many years behind in their education. These are teenagers completing primary school. So sepheo operates a non-formal primary school.w e have to use creative methods to help children catch up on their education as fast as they can.
Sepheo school exists to get children off the streets and back into community again. And also any other child who is somehow excluded from society, we help them connect back into family and their community, and we use education as a center point for that. And that means we have to be creative about how we deliver education. The thought of having one teacher in front of 90 children doesn’t work for us. What we need is a way that kids can be engaged that they can progress at their own pace, and that’s why technology is so important to us. We have hundreds of children coming through our gates every single year, and they are learning, they are advancing, and the great thing is because of our technology, we can measure it.
Trying to manage all our devices that was our student ipads, that was our staff macs, it took so much of my time. At sepheo we use mosyle to manage all of our student ipads and our staff macs. The setup process was so easy, I didn't need any technical knowledge I just followed the steps one by one by one. And at the end of that process, our devices were set up they had the right settings and restrictions and they had all the right apps on them. I would say to any school that’s wondering what to do with their IT and their device management get on Mosyle, get on it now. it will give you back so many hours of doing things that you never had to do in the first place.
