Release Notes is our update that highlights the new features of Mosyle Manager as well as recent product improvements we’ve made to help you manage Apple devices in your schools and/or district. Here's what we launched in February 2019!
Administrators now have a two-factor authentication security option available. The admin’s password and code will be generated on his/her smartphone whenever he/she sign in to the Mosyle Manager account. To enable this security option, the administrator needs to navigate to Settings and click Enable.
Now IT administrators can export a pending or failed commands report. To export the report, navigate to Management > Commands Activity Log > select the tab for Pending or Failed Commands > and click Export. The generated file will be sent to the admin’s email address registered in the Mosyle Manager account.
Now you can select the Email Account Type to setup the Google Account management profile, choosing to Setup the email account based on the email address registered in Mosyle, Setup the email account as User ID + Suffix or Setup a fixed email account.
Now admins can upload an icon image when adding a Webclip to the Home Layout management profile to be applied to iOS devices.
We improved the Security & Privacy management profile, making it more intuitive and easy-to-use. When creating the new profile, you are able to first select if it will be a Security or a Privacy management profile, using the options available on the top menu.
Now IT administrators can configure the Education Configuration Profile to be installed and updated for the Apple Classroom app on devices, allowing teachers to use it during the “Start Class” in Mosyle Class Manager. This setting will only be applied for Teachers. To allow this option, check the option on the Preferences tab.
Now administrators can specify how network connection, such as cellular data and roaming, can access managed applications installed on the students devices. Important note: these policies only apply to applications managed using the MDM solution.
IT admins can block cellular data and roaming to have access to specific managed apps, by selecting the application through the list of installed apps. It's also possible to block it by adding a wildcard match. To apply this device policy, navigate to Management tab and configure the management profile following the onscreen steps.
Now IT leaders can control Certificate Transparency enforcement, disabling it for Domains and/or for Certificates. Important note: this management profile is applied in system level (System-Scope) on the macOS devices.
To disable Certificate Transparency for Domains, just add the list of domains in the field available when creating the management profile. If you would like to disable it for the Certificate, you need to add the certificate’s hash key - which you can learn how to generate it within the onscreen instructions.
Now administrators are able to configure a custom pop-up message to Mac computers, sending a personalized alert for selected macOS devices. It’s possible to add a specific URL that the user can access by clicking the Pop-Up Message, or just send a custom message.
You can also choose the view mode, choosing if you’ll allow a user to minimise or re-size the pop-up. It’s also possible to force the window in the foreground and block the users from closing the pop-up during a specific period of time. To configure a custom Pop-Up Message, navigate to Management > Bulk Operations > select the devices > click Send Custom Pop-Up Message from the menu on the top > configure the message and click Save.
