MDM on The Road has traveled overseas to meet an incredible school using Apple devices in Italy! This episode of the second season of MDM on the Road takes us to Milan, Italy where we get to visit the country’s first Apple Distinguished School, Istituti de Amicis.

Fredy Padovan, Chief Inspiration Officer for Mosyle: This episode on the road takes us across the Atlantic to the continent of Europe and our next school Istituti de Amicis in Milan, Italy. De Amicis school has the distinct honor of being the countries first Apple Distinguished School and they have been seeing great success with their 1:1 initiative by delivering modern curriculum offerings through iTunes U. The school leadership is heavily invested in ensuring that all students have the best technology to prepare them for the future.

Giulio Massa, CEO of Istituti De Amicis: In 2011, when I bought my first iPad I started to imagine how to change the school and how the technology can help us to change the school. We need to be more creative, more involved, we needed to have students that want to do well in school, that enjoy to stay in school. Technology unlocks the ability of the students and allows them to adapt their skills, their knowledge, to a future that changes very fast.

Fredy Padovan, Chief Inspiration Officer for Mosyle:The teachers at Istituti de Amici have received a lot of professional development and as a result are very enthusiastic towards the integration of technology in the classroom.

Moira Durante - English teacher for Istituti De Amicis: Technology is really, really very important because it’s the only tool that enables us to cut the gap between teachers and students. Lessons can become more interactive and students can be engaged during the lesson and I think this is very important, it is an essential element.

Laura Gaboardi - English teacher for Istituti De Amicis: Moreover, we can say that technology is also important, for teachers and students, because it teaches you to be more creative. Students must learn with technology, how to behave outside school in their lives, in their future lives. That is an important challenge for us and for them, so technology must be used in a very proper way but it is very important for education.
