There are a few different enrollment methods made available to you using Mosyle Manager, and each of them has different factors and requirements which can affect your choice, according to your specific Apple deployment. Find information about each type of Enrollment method available below.
Automated Device Enrollment
This method is the easiest way to enroll your devices that have been purchased directly from Apple. You can automatically enroll and supervise devices this way after completing the integration between Apple School Manager and your Mosyle account. We highly recommend that you to proceed with this method, enjoying all the benefits of the zero-touch deployment available on Automated Device Enrollment.
User Enrollment is a new enrollment method designed for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) programs and gives IT the ability to manage a limited set of configurations and policies that help ensure user and device safety. These configurations and policies are associated with a user instead of the entire device, which helps secure personal data.
This method requires using an Enrollment URL and does not require a wipe of your Apple devices. Keep in mind that this enrollment method allows your end-users to manually remove MDM management profile and it will not supervise the iOS or iPadOS devices. This enrollment method is recommended for small deployments and/or if the school doesn’t need to apply restrictions available only for devices in supervised mode.
Enrollment using Apple Configurator 2
You can enroll your devices using Apple Configurator 2 (AC2) if they are running iOS, iPadOS or tvOS. AC2 is a free app available on Mac computers, which gives you the ability to supervise and enroll devices along with Mosyle Manager MDM. This method is great if your devices were donated.
