Released by Apple in September, the Swift Playgrounds app is a great promise to bring coding into schools all over the world. The app is intuitive and utilizes a game-like structure: users learn progressively how to code with the Swift programming language. It’s has been developed by Apple and all iOS applications are built using it.

To instruct about coding, it’s recommended that teachers know the basics fundamentals of computational thinking. Apple has published a course which is available on iTunes U, that uses short videos to explain the concepts and how to use Swift Playgrounds.
